Hello and welcome!
After moving from China to the UK when I was 8 years old, I've been cooking since I was around 13. My culinary inspiration comes from my mum and grandma, who have brought me up to appreciate sitting around the table for dinner as a family every night and cooking from fresh ingredients. The menu I've put together for you is adapted from family recipes handed down over generations.
We'll be starting with a welcome drink of jasmine tea, followed by an appetiser of steamed prawn & pork dim sum, a starter of Chinese steamed fish with sautéed eggplant, a choice of mains (let me know which you'd like): Traditional Peking Duck with sesame cucumber or Braised Pork Belly with steamed pak choi, and finishing with a Lychee & Tapioca pudding. Simply delicious food the Chinese have been enjoying for over 1000 years!
This meal will be served with rice.
(虾烧卖) Prawn & Pork Steamed Dumplings
(清蒸鱼) Chinese Steamed Fish and Sautéed Eggplant, with Fresh Chillies and Scallions
Choice of either:
(北京烤鸭) Traditional Peking Duck, with Sesame Cucumber, and Hoisin Sauce
(红烧肉和青菜) Traditional Braised Pork Belly , with Steamed Pak Choi, and Char Siu Sauce
(甜荔枝木薯) Lychee & Tapioca Pudding
